Message from the Head Master
A warm welcome to Harrow International School, Guangzhou.
Harrow Guangzhou will be a very special school. The 15th AISL Harrow School, it will offer a future-focused education, outstanding academic standards, and an exceptionally targeted and effective English language programme, focused on both written and spoken English, which will set up our students to be successful leaders in the future. The school will feature both the AISL FutureLab and the AISL Entrepreneurship Centre, two innovative developments that will connect technology to the world of business and give our young people an understanding of how to be entrepreneurial, creative leaders in the years to come.
We will also be a warm community in which every child feels loved, cared for and able to take supported risks that will enable them to do things they would not previously have thought possible. Our community – supportive and engaged – will make sure both that we know every single child and also that we know how to support and challenge every one of them. It’s this, more than anything, that will make us stand out.
Our facilities – nearly ready now – will be amongst the best in the GBA. Our FutureLab and Entrepreneurship Centre will be joined by outstanding sporting facilities, a 900 seat Theatre and Performance Space, fantastic drama facilities and a huge number of music teaching and practice rooms. Our classrooms will be equipped with the latest technology, designed to support learning and develop technological skills; and our kitchens will be equipped with the latest technology too, supporting our outstanding “Excellence on a Plate” menu, designed by a leading chef and complementing Guangzhou’s culinary heritage.
Our school will be a special place. Our children will be happy, supported and challenged to exceed their capabilities; our parents will be engaged, confident and part of their children’s education every step of the way; and our teachers will be the best practitioners, trained in the UK, with experience of outstanding schools, and ready to develop students, forging leaders for tomorrow.
